When I talk about creativity, I mean creative thinking (generating and nurturing ideas) and creative expression (what you might think of as creativity). And I believe that how we approach these is driven by our creative identity – who we are as unique individuals.
Creativity is important to individuals of all ages, to society and to the economy. It enables us to live healthy and fulfilled lives, it enables us to make money, it enables us to connect with other people and more deeply with ourselves and who we are.
Below are some examples of the topics I have covered in past talks and workshops. Please get in touch for more details about options and prices (where applicable).
Talks about creative thinking
I offer the following talks and workshops about creative thinking. These can be done as ‘lunch and learn’ sessions or 2 hour workshops. They can also be shortened to make them suitable for talks at networking events.
1. An overview of the ‘creative thinking styles’ developed by Creative ID.
How are you creative?
Creative thinking styles show us what we as individuals contribute to the process of generating, nurturing and realising new ideas.
This interactive talk enables participants to find out more about creative thinking styles and to discuss how they might use this knowledge in their individual businesses or in working with each other as a team.
(If required, I can also provide access to individual profiling for an additional cost, because I’m a certified Creative ID consultant.)
2. Creativity in business (focused on making new ideas happen).
How can you make your ideas happen?
This interactive session can either be run as a stand-alone session or as a wrap-up after a series of other talks.
It enables participants to sit back and reflect on their ideas – and gets them to think about how they might take action on these within their businesses.
It provides a framework for ensuring that all the relevant elements are covered, and suggests ways to gain support from others to progress the ideas to completion.

3. Creativity in the age of A.I.
This is a new interactive session that I’m trialling, which enables participants to think about how their own creative activities (idea generation and creative expression) are impacted by the use of A.I. in the world of work.
There are some parts of our work that cannot be replaced by A.I. because they come from our uniqueness as human beings. And there are some areas where we might find A.I. useful to help us with thinking tasks that are not our natural strengths.
This session will include some content from the creative thinking styles workshop to lay the foundations for the discussions.

Creative writing sessions
I run online creative writing sessions for groups, which last 1 hour.
Each session consists of a series of prompts, and 5-10 minutes for participants to write in response to each one. The sessions are informal and allow participants to read out their work or make observations if they wish to do so.
If you would like to organise a session for a group, online or in person, please get in touch for more details and prices (where applicable). I have a mini version I can provide for networking events, and the workshop can also be adapted for retreat days.

The Berkshire branch of the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders enjoyed the workshop I ran for them when I was testing the idea in 2024 – see their comments here.
