I’m Nina Lenton.
I create structure and space for creativity and creative thinking through coaching, mentoring, project management and workshops.

Who I work with
My 1:1 clients are founders and freelancers with a lot of ideas. You’re curious and creative and are doing (or want to be doing) work you are passionate about, but you’re stuck.
- Maybe you’ve lost sight of what’s important to you…
- Maybe you have too many ideas…
- Maybe the idea that really matters to you feels too big or too vulnerable and you don’t know where to start with it…
- Maybe the need to do marketing for your business is getting in the way of the bits you love…
I also work with teams – either giving you tools to help you work together more effectively and more creatively, or by filling in a gap where you need a logical, detailed thinker to help with your planning or to make something happen.
How I work
I listen carefully and ask a lot of questions – whether I’m in coach mode or practical planning mode. I ask questions that are focused on how things might work rather than why they wouldn’t, and I’m often still thinking about your idea after the call has ended, because my brain loves thinking! In our conversations, I create a safe space for talking about your ideas – a space where it’s OK if they’re only half-formed.
Clients tell me I offer just the right amount of challenge – enough to shift something or provide clarity, but not so much that it feels like hard work! You can read some of their comments here.
I work in a way that adapts to you and how you function best – your thinking style, your working patterns, your energy. If you’re neurodivergent or think you might be, this approach will allow you to create the flexibility you need. (I’ve done some training in this area, see the details below.)
I work school hours, which means I have a limited number of clients at any one time. This means that I leave plenty of space in my diary to recharge my brain and ensure I bring the best of it to our work together.
The bigger picture
I am a creativity advocate. I firmly believe that we are all creative – just in different ways. And I think that creativity is the essence of what makes us unique human beings. Part of my journey to self-employment involved rediscovering my own creativity and understanding my own strengths and creative interests – and this is why I encourage others to think about what creativity means to them. (If you want to find out more, you can read the first part of my freelance story here (Amazon e-book). More of that story to come at some point…)
Here are some of my resources and services that help my coaching clients and others to understand how they are creative.
I host a podcast, called Creative Conversations With Nina Lenton, in which I ask my guests “what does the word creativity mean to you?” It returned for a third series in April 2026. You can catch up on episodes wherever you find your podcasts – and read more about the episodes and guests here. (Sign up to my newsletter here to find out when new episodes are released.)
And I am the author of 3 illustrated (doodled) books: A Guide To Ideas, Weird Penguin’s Thoughts on Freelance Life, and Things I Know About Creativity. They are a great introduction to my thoughts on freelancing and on the importance of having creativity in our lives – and they provided a great excuse for me to draw weird-looking penguins! You can find out how to buy those here.
I’d love to do more talks and workshops for small groups and teams to help them understand their creative identity and how that can help them in their work. You can find out more about my talks here or get in touch with me for a chat.
