Ideas don’t make themselves happen, much as I’m sure we wish they would! Whether it’s an idea for a workshop, a course, a membership, a new service, a new marketing channel, or anything else that involves you creating some content and communicating about it to clients and potential clients, the same principles apply.
Here are a few things that you’ll need to plan a project and make that idea happen.
They need:
A plan – with a deadline and some milestone dates along the way, and a bit of flexibility built in.
Even a simple plan with some timings on it will help move your idea forwards.
A budget – do you know how much money it will cost to develop the idea?
And where will that money come from, how much will you need to charge for the service, event or product in order to make this idea workable?
Time – do you know how much you have available?
It’s also really useful to understand when you work most efficiently on certain types of tasks, so that you can use your time effectively.
People – it can help to have other people involved in your idea or your business so you’re not doing it all by yourself.
Whether that’s asking them to work on the idea itself or to do the things that are eating up your time and taking you away from your idea.
Accountability – checking in with someone else on a regular basis can really help to ensure you’re making progress.
That could be the person you’re collaborating with on an idea, or perhaps a coach or mentor who reminds you to show up and do some work on your idea.
Is there anything that I can help you with?
If I can help you set out these things in your plan, think about who you could get to help, and/or provide some accountability, just get in touch here.
Or you could download one of my do-it-yourself planning tools from my shop (£10-15 per pdf).
